Tend Infertile Women Have Sexual Problems

Women who seek treatment for their fertility will be less satisfied in sexual life, and have a higher risk of sexual dysfunction than women with normal fertility.

Researchers found that 119 women who visited the fertility clinic, 40% are lower levels when answering a questionnaire about their sexual function, and are in top level for sexual dysfunction. This percentage compared with 2% of the 99 fertile women who were also collected in a single control unit.

Research results published in the journal Fertility and Sterility was also mentioned, specifically infertility patients reported more problems with their desire and passion. Whereas physical symptoms such as vaginal dryness and pain during sexual activity they experienced the same as most women infertile. Not only that, these infertile women also had no trouble getting an orgasm.

"This study does not give reasons why these findings occurred," said lead researcher Dr. S Leah Millheiser of Stanford University Medical Center, in California.

Previous studies found that infertility and treatment can have a negative impact for both men and women emotionally or create marital tension. "In addition, couples who are trying to get pregnant, will get a feeling of pressure such as 'sex because of the need' in which will reduce satisfaction in their sexual lives," said the researcher.

In this study, women with fertility problems have a level below the average when explaining the satisfaction of their sex lives. As many as 34% revealed that they experienced a decline since the diagnosis passion infertile.

These findings based on samples from 119 women who visited the fertility clinic at Stanford and 99 women who are sexually active within the same age and enrolled in a university gynecology clinic. Both groups were similar in weight on average, education level, and race, and ethnicity.

All women were fully answered questions about their sexual function. Lower value of 26.5 thus associated with high risk of sexual dysfunction. The average value in the infertile group was 27.1 and 28.7 for women infertile.

Infertile women have sex less often or only seven times during the month, when compared to fertile women who have sex an average of 9 times / month.

"With this study," said Milheiser and colleagues, "we hope this record of infertility can be a potential factor in the risk of sexual dysfunction."
